STORING THE RANGE EXTENDER

If you plan to store the Range Extender for a long time, charge the battery to about 50% of its capacity before storing it and
check the charge level every 3 months (re-charge it to 50%). Never let the charge level drop below 10% in order to avoid dam-
age to the cells.

SLEEP MODE

If you are not going to use the Range Extender for an extended period, Orbea recommends putting the Range Extender in Sleep
mode to protect the battery. Press and hold the main button on the Range Extender for 15 seconds. LEDs 1 and 2 will light up
alternately and then go out. The Range Extender will be in sleep mode. To reactivate it, connect the Smart Charger Gen2 to the
Range Extender (with the charger plugged in). It will reactivate immediately and begin charging.
AUTOMATIC SLEEP MODE: If the Range Extender (charging) voltage stays below 31V for 7 days or below 35V for 3 months,
the Range Extender will automatically enter Sleep mode. To reactivate the Range extender, connect the Smart Charger Gen2 to
the Range Extender (with the charger plugged in). It will reactivate immediately and begin charging.
Before using the Range Extender, especially if it has not been used recently, it is advisable to press the main button on the
Range Extender to check its status. If, when you press the main button, the LEDs light up showing the charge level, the
Range Extender is operational. If the LEDs do not light up, the Range Extender's battery may be dead or the Range Extender
may have entered Sleep mode. Connect the Smart Charger Gen2 to the Range Extender (with the charger plugged in). It will
reactivate immediately and begin charging.

CHECK THE HEALTH STATE OF THE RANGE EXTENDER

The state of health (service life) of lithium-ion batteries is reduced by charging cycles and usage conditions over the life of the
battery.
Under normal use conditions, following the conditions and temperature ranges for use, charging and storage, Orbea Ebike Sys-
tems batteries will have their useful life reduced by approximately 20% after 500 complete charging cycles
This battery health data is given for ideal usage conditions. It can be affected by usage conditions, charging and storage in
very cold temperatures, by storing the battery for long periods of time without topping up the charge level, by repeatedly using
the battery at very low charge levels, etc.
To check the state of your Range Extender, connect the battery to a compatible bicycle already on or turn on the bicycle with the
Range Extender connected.
The Range Extender's four LEDs will sweep to the left and then flash to show the battery state of health for 2 seconds. They will
then remain on steadily to show the current battery charge level, and will then turn off.
