GUARANTEE ON THE ELECTRICAL ASSIST SYSTEM
COMPONENTS
SHIMANO STEPS COMPONENTS
The components of the Shimano STEPS electrical system
(motor, speed sensor, assist level change switch, display and
Di2 wiring) are covered by a 3-year statutory warranty from
the date of purchase of the article or the bicycle, or the period
stipulated as the statutory warranty period in the country of
purchase.
All warranty requests must be handled through Shimano or
through one of the brand's authorised dealers.
EXCLUSIVE ORBEA RS COMPONENTS
Orbea's exclusive RS electrical system components (internal
battery, Range Extender, battery connection harness cable,
motor and charging port) are covered by a 3-year statutory
warranty from the time of purchase of the item or bicycle, or
the period stipulated as the statutory warranty in the country
of purchase
All warranty requests must be processed with Orbea through
one of our authorised dealers.
These warranties cover all Shimano and Orbea products
against manufacturing defects and/or failure to meet the
standard and guarantee the repair or replacement of the de-
fective product at no cost to the affected customer
Under no circumstances does this warranty cover damage re-
sulting from improper use, falls or accidents, incorrect instal-
lation or lack of maintenance or failure to observe the usage,
storage, charging or other instructions in this manual.
The loss of capacity of the RS batteries (internal battery and
Range Extender) due to natural ageing of the batteries
through use, charging and storage is not covered by the war-
ranty conditions.
WARRANTY CLAIMS PROCESS
All warranty claims must be processed through an authorised
Orbea dealer, who will perform the initial diagnosis and send
Orbea, Shimano or the manufacturer of the component subject
to the claim all the necessary documentation for a full diagno-
sis of the claim in question. The dealer will inform the owner
about the status of the process and the decision made on the
warranty claim by Orbea, Shimano or the manufacturer of the
component in question.
WARRANTY CLAIMS AND REPAIRS OF COMPONENTS OF
THE ELECTRICAL ASSIST SYSTEM
SHIMANO: Warranty claims or repairs of the following electri-
cal system components will be processed through Shimano:
• Shimano EP801 RS and EP6 RS Motors.
• Speed sensor.
• STEPS/Di2 specific cabling.
• SW-EN600-L assist level lever.
• SC-EN600 Display
ORBEA: Warranty claims or repairs of the following electrical
system components will be processed through Orbea:
• 210 Wh Range Extender external battery. Gen2.
• Orbea Ebike System 540Wh Gen2/630 Wh Gen2/420 Wh
Gen2 internal batteries.
• Harness cable for connection to the internal battery, motor
and Gen 2 charging port.
• RS Gen2 Smart Charger.
We recommend that you always go to the dealer from whom
you bought your bicycle to process a guarantee claim, or the
dealer you chose during the process of buying a bicycle that
was delivered directly to your home. If you cannot go to the
original dealer, you can check the list of authorised dealers on
our website or contact Orbea directly so we can let you know
the dealer you should go to.
