TROUBLESHOOTING THE INTERNAL BATTERY (INFORMATION FOR DISTRIBUTORS)
Orbea Ebike Systems Gen2 internal batteries do not have LEDs to display battery error codes and troubleshooting cannot be per-
formed using E-Tube Professional. If there is a problem with the Rise electrical system, use E-Tube Professional to check that the
problem is not in another Shimano component of the electrical system.
Contact Shimano to provide a system report through a claim. If Shimano informs you that the problem is related to the internal
battery, contact Orbea via a claim.
Please refer to the Connecting to Etube Professional section of this manual for the method of connecting to the diagnostic
tool.
REMOVING THE INTERNAL BATTERY (INFORMATION FOR DEALERS)
Installation and removal of power assist system components requires advanced mechanical knowledge and may be beyond
the skill of most users. Always go to an official dealer for the diagnosis, repair and installation of the components of the electri-
cal system. Damage to components resulting from incorrect handling could void the warranty on those components.
Orbea recommends that internal batteries only be replaced by authorised Orbea dealers, as the process requires the removal
of major components of the bicycle and the electrical system. If you are going to travel with your bicycle and need to remove
the battery, always take your bike to an Orbea dealer to avoid damage to the materials and to ensure that all of the compo-
nents work correctly and safely. Incorrect installation of components can cause them to fail, which can lead to serious acci-
dents and injuries
The method of removing the frame's internal battery is the same for all Rise-compatible Orbea Gen2 internal battery models.

a. Remove the right crank following the manufacturer's
recommended process:
https://si.shimano.com/dm/DUE001/install_chainring_
crank_arms
b. Remove the upper part of the chain guide so that the
chainring can be disassembled.
c. Remove the Shimano lockring from the chainring so that it
can be removed. The lockring is loosened to the right. The
rear wheel and belt/chain need to be installed in order to be
able to lock the chainring rotation by holding the rear wheel
to allow the lockring to be loosened.
Use the Shimano TL-FC430 tools together with the TL-FC36,
TL-FC33 or TL-FC32 (all three are compatible) for lockring
removal.
d. Remove the chainguide body to gain access to the motor
attachment bolts.
