5. On stems marked "NO GAP" the fastening point bolts
marked "NO GAP" must first be tightened until the
faceplate and stem body make contact. Then tighten
the opposite bolts to the final torque given for the
model.
Finally, check the tightening torque of the 4 faceplate
screws in a cross pattern, until the recommended
tightening torque is reached.
6. With the stem and handlebars fitted, centre the stem
with respect to the front wheel.
7. Tighten the stem top cap to the recommended
torque. Check that the headset is free of play by
applying the front brake and rocking the bike slightly
back and forth. Similarly, check that the handlebars
rotate smoothly to both sides.
8. Apply assembly grease to the stem clamp bolts and
tighten to the recommended torque.
