USE OF RISE

This section describes the basic operation of the Shimano
STEPS EP801/EP6 system in Rise and the unique features of
Orbea's EP801RS/EP6 RS system

CHARGING THE INTERNAL BATTERY

Fully charge the internal battery or Range Extender before
using the bicycle for the first time.
ORBEA RS 630 WH GEN2 AND 420 WH GEN2 INTER-
NAL BATTERIES
To charge the internal battery, connect the charger to a
power outlet. The charger LED will flash blue when the charg-
er is not connected to the bicycle.
Open the Rise charging port cover and connect the charger
by correctly aligning the connector with the charging port.
Correctly align the pins on the charger with those on the
charging point to avoid damaging the components.
The charger's LED will light up in steady blue for 2 seconds
and will then start to turn on and gradually fade off in a cycli-
cal manner until the battery is fully charged.
The bicycle cannot be switched on while the charger is con-
nected to the charging port.
If you want to know the exact percentage of charge remain-
ing, disconnect the charger from the charging port, turn on
the bike and check the charge level on the SW-EN600-L re-
mote control, the display or by connecting the bike to the Or-
bea RS Toolbox applications (Garmin) or Shimano Etube
Project Cyclist (smartphones) to find the battery charge level
If the LED on the charger lights up in red when the charger
is plugged into a socket or during charging, there is a
problem.
Immediately disconnect the charger and see the charger
troubleshooting section of this manual. If the problem per-
sists, contact an authorised Orbea dealer.
When the battery is fully charged, the LED on the charger will
light up again in steady blue.
Disconnect the charger from the charging port by carefully
pulling on the charger connector. Make sure that the charg-
ing port cover is properly closed
