package integrity. Sterile items loses sterility
in case of broken or damaged packaging.
WARNING: Before surgery, assure
that the insert selected has been correctly
tightened onto the handpiece. The insert
is properly placed when PIEZOSURGERY
medical torque wrench, used to tighten it,
produces a mechanical "CLICK" sound.
WARNING: The PIEZOSURGERY medical
irrigation kit is guaranteed for a single
use, only. Separate and dispose of this
kit according to the current regulations
governing hospital waste.
WARNING: Before using the device,
check that the irrigation tube clamps are
open. After surgery, close the clamps before
disconnecting the irrigation kit from the
physiological irrigation bag.
CAUTION: Never force the cord-
handpiece connector into its port on the
device as the cord-handpiece connector
and/or the device can be damaged. If the
connector cannot be easily inserted into
the port, probably the connector and the
port do not correctly match. Ensure that
the connector index point of the cord-
handpiece is placed upwards.
CAUTION: Check that the
PIEZOSURGERY medical handpiece is
correctly connected before using the
system.
WARNING: Before each treatment,
assure that the insert suitable for the
treatment has been mounted on the
handpiece. Only use the PIEZOSURGERY
medical torque wrench to tighten the insert
onto the handpiece. Do not use any other
tools, such as pliers, pincers, etc.
WARNING: Check that the insert
mounted into the handpiece is the same
one as shown on the display, otherwise,
performance will be affected.
CAUTION: To avoid damaging the foot
pedal cable, connect and/or disconnect it,
holding it by the connector only. Never pull
the cable.

CAUTION: Do not twist or rotate the
foot pedal cable connector when inserting
or removing it. Twisting can damage the
connector.
CAUTION: The foot pedal has been
specifically designed for the use with the
PIEZOSURGERY plus device, only. Only use
the original foot pedal, otherwise, damages
or malfunctions may occur.
CAUTION: For a correct use of the
device, it is necessary to press the pedal
and start working with the insert not in
contact with the part to be treated, so
that the electronic circuit can recognize
the best resonance point of the insert
without interference, allowing its optimal
performance.
WARNING: The patient must not come
into contact with the device chassis or the
foot pedal.
WARNING: Do not change the insert
when the handpiece is operating; the
operator may be injured.
WARNING: Be very careful to the sharp
edges of cutting inserts. When tightening
and removing these insert types, the edges
may cause injuries.
WARNING: Breakage and wear of
the inserts. The high-frequency vibrations
and general wear and tear can, very
occasionally, lead to insert breakage. Do
not bend, change the shape or sharpen
an insert in any way. Bending an insert or
applying leverage to it can cause it to break.
Deformed or otherwise damaged inserts
are liable to break during use. These inserts
must never be used. Excessive pressure on
inserts during use can cause them to break.
If the tip of the insert comes into contact
with metal objects, it may break leaving
fragments in the operating site. In the
event of breakage, check that no fragments
remain in the treated part, and at the same
time suction effectively to remove any of
them. If a fragment cannot be found, use
diagnostic tools such as x-rays to confirm
that the broken piece is not in the surgical
