WARNING: Before starting the activity,
always assure having a set of spare parts
(handpiece, inserts, wrenches) to be used in
the event of a failure or problem.
WARNING: Use of non-original
Mectron inserts: this can completely
damage the threading of the handpiece,
affecting the proper operation and causing
injury to the patient.
CAUTION: Contraindications. Do not
operate on metal or ceramic prosthetic
artefacts. The ultrasonic vibrations could
cause them to detach.
WARNING: Contraindications. Do not
use the PIEZOSURGERY plus and relative
accessories on patients with pacemaker or
other implantable electronic devices. This
precaution also applies to the operator.
WARNING: Check the condition of the
device and of relative accessories before
operating. Always make sure that there
is no water under the device. Before each
treatment, always check that the device and
its components are properly working. In
case of problems or anomalies are detected,
DO NOT proceed with the treatment. If
experiencing problems with the device
and/or its relative accessories, contact an
Authorised Mectron Service Centre.
WARNING: Infection control. First
use: all reusable parts and components
(whether new or returned from an
Authorised Mectron Service Centre) are
delivered in NON-STERILE conditions and
MUST be processed before the use, in
accordance with the instructions provided
in the Cleaning and Sterilisation Manual.
Subsequent uses: after each treatment,

CAUTION: Contraindications. After
having sterilised the handpiece, the
torque wrench and any other sterilisable
components in the autoclave, wait for them
to cool completely before reusing.
WARNING: Only use original Mectron
components and spare parts.
CAUTION: The electrical contacts
inside the cord connector must be
dry. Before connecting the handpiece to
the device, make sure that the electrical
contacts of the connector are perfectly dry,
in particular, after the autoclave sterilisation
cycle. Dry the contacts, if necessary, by
blowing compressed air onto them.
WARNING: To assure the proper
handpiece cooling, always activate it with
the irrigation circuit correctly installed and
filled in. To fill the irrigation circuit, always
use the pump button.
WARNING: Always check the irrigation
functionality before and during use. Assure
that the liquid flows out from the insert.
Do not use the device if irrigation is not
working or the pump is faulty.
WARNING: Check the level of
physiological solution contained in the
physiological irrigation bag. Replace the
physiological irrigation bag with a new one
before it is completely empty.
WARNING: Sterile single-use material.
Before surgery. Before using any single-
use sterile component, check the sterile
