Cautions
1.
The adapter is sterile and nonpyrogenic. Do not use the adapter if either of the following
conditions is true:
The end caps are not in place.
The spike is disconnected from the adapter.
2.
A leak could occur if either of the following conditions is true:
The adapter is not connected to a tubing set before spiking an AC container.
The spike is disconnected from the adapter.
Procedures for Use
Using aseptic technique, follow these instructions to use the Anticoagulant Connection Adapter.
1.
Remove the adapter from the packaging.
2.
Remove the end cap from the luer connector on the AC line of the tubing set.
3.
Remove the end cap from the AC connector on the adapter.
4.
Connect the luer connector on the AC line of the tubing set to the AC connector on the adapter
using a twisting motion.
5.
Remove the end cap from the spike on the adapter.
Note: If you disconnect the spike from the adapter, a leak could occur.
6.
Insert the spike on the adapter into the AC container.
7.
If the AC is in a hard-sided container, such as a bottle, open the vent below the spike to allow the
solution to flow.
