When using the Trima Accel Automated Blood Collection System, Version 5, do not

select a procedure configured with an RBC product when using a disposable tubing set
that does not contain an RBC bag. If a procedure with an RBC product is selected in error,
a "centrifuge pressure high" alert will be displayed when RBC collection begins. Select
for rinseback and continue. Any RBCs in the system will be returned to the donor.

Supplemental Instructions for Donor Connection
These instructions supplement the Trima Accel Automated Blood Collection System
Operator's Manual for use with versions 5.0–5.1. Please read complete instructions before
use. Complete instructions for loading and using the tubing sets are located in the
operator's manual and in the documentation included with this set.
Please refer to the Trima Accel Automated Blood Collection System Operator's Manual for use
with versions 5.0–5.1 for a complete listing of warnings, cautions, adverse effects and operating
instructions.
To accommodate a change in the disposable tubing sets, these instructions are intended to
supplement the instructions for connecting the donor and taking a donor sample in Chapter 4 of
the Trima Accel Automated Blood Collection System Operator's Manual for use with versions
5.0–5.1. The Y-connector (3) for the sample bag has been moved from the inlet line to the
needle line, and a blue pinch clamp (4) has been added.
Caution: Ensure that the blue pinch clamp is open and both white
pinch clamps are closed during the tubing set test.
