11. Storage
m CAUTION
Never store a chainsaw for longer than 30 days with-
out carrying out the following steps.
Follow the cleaning and maintenance information be-
fore storing the unit!
Stowing the chainsaw
If you store a chainsaw for longer than 30 days, it
must be prepared ahead of time. Otherwise, the re-
maining fuel in the carburettor will evaporate and
leave a rubbery sediment behind. This could make
it difficult to start and result in expensive repair work.
• Slowly remove the fuel tank cap to release any
pressure in the tank. Carefully empty the fuel tank.
• Start the engine and let it run until the chainsaw
stops in order to remove the fuel from the carbu-
rettor.
• Allow the engine to cool down (approx. 5 minutes).
• Remove the spark plug.
• Add 1 teaspoon of clean 2-stroke oil to the com-
bustion chamber. Pull the reverse starter handle
slowly several times to coat the internal compo-
nents. Re-insert the spark plug.
m NOTE
Store the chainsaw in a dry location and far away
from potential sources of ignition, such as furnaces,
hot water boilers with gas, gas dryers, etc.
Recommissioning the chainsaw

excess oil from the combustion chamber.

trode gap.
