11. Storage

m CAUTION
Never store a chainsaw for longer than 30 days with-
out carrying out the following steps.
If you store your chainsaw temporarily for longer
than 30 days, it must be prepared ahead of time.
Otherwise, the remaining fuel in the carburettor will
evaporate and leave a rubbery sediment behind. This
can make it difficult to start and result in expensive
repair work.
1. Remove the tank cover slowly to release any
pressure in the tank. Carefully empty the tank.
2. Start the engine and let it run until it stops in order
to remove all fuel from the carburettor.
3. Allow the engine to cool down (approx. 5 minutes).
4. Remove the spark plug. You require the supplied
spark plug screwdriver combination tool for this.
5. Add one teaspoon of clean 2-stroke engine oil to
the combustion chamber.
6. Pull the starter cord slowly several times to coat
the internal components with oil. Re-insert the
spark plug.
Restarting the saw
1. Remove the spark plug.
2. Pull the starter cord quickly to remove excess oil
from the combustion chamber.
3. Clean the spark plug and check that the electrode
gap on the spark plug is correct is correctly set, or
insert a new spark plug with the correct electrode
gap.
4. Prepare the saw for operation.
5. Fill the fuel tank with the correct fuel-oil mixture.
6. Top up the chain oil in the chain oil tank.

12. Transport

coarse dirt from the saw with a brush or a hand brush.
