• For the first cut (Pos. 1), cut 1/3 into the lower part
of the branch.
• Then cut all the way through the branch with the
second cut (Pos. 2). The third cut (Pos. 3) is a top
cut, with which you separate the branch to within
2.5 to 5 cm of the trunk.

5.8 Residual risks

m DANGER
MECHANICAL HAZARDS:
Rotating saw chain
Moving parts of the power transmission
Parts ejected from the saw chain
The saw chain breaking apart
Fault of the engine control system or actuating parts,
which leads to an unexpected start with the saw
chain switched on, unexpected overspeed.
ELECTRICAL HAZARDS:
Live electrical parts (direct contact) or parts that are
under high voltage current due to a fault (indirect
contact).
THERMAL HAZARDS:
Hot engine parts, including parts that have become
hot due to heat radiation.
HAZARDS DUE TO NOISES:
Engine, gearbox and cutting system including the
resonance of rigid machine parts can cause hearing
damage (deafness) and other physiological disorders
(e.g. loss of balance, loss of consciousness), as well
as acoustic signal disorders and language commu-
nication.
HAZARDS DUE TO VIBRATIONS:
Engine, handles
HAZARDS
CAUSED
BY
STANCES:
Engine exhaust fumes, petrol
ERGONOMIC HAZARDS:
Arrangement and design of actuator components,
handles, etc.
COMBINATION OF HAZARDS:
Poor posture or excessive effort in combination with
inappropriate design or layout of manual actuator
components, including inadequate consideration of
hand-arm anatomy in relation to the design of hand
grips, the balance of the machine and the use of a
claw stop.
Hot engine parts/electrical short circuit in conjunction
with a leaking petrol tank/petrol leakage.

RISK OF INJURY!
Contact with the saw chain can lead to fatal cuts.
Never touch the saw chain with your hands while it
is running.
RISK OF KICK-BACK!
Kick-back can lead to fatal cuts.
DANGER OF BURNING!
The chain and guide rail heat up during operation.
Behaviour in an emergency
Initiate the necessary first aid measures for the inju-
ry and seek medical assistance as quickly as possi-
ble. Protect the injured person from further harm and
keep them calm. A first-aid kit according to DIN 13164
should always be available at the workplace in the
event of an accident. Any material taken from the first
aid kit must be refilled immediately. When requesting
assistance, provide the following information:
1. Place of the accident
2. Nature of the accident
3. Number of injured
4. Nature of the injuries
Save all warnings and instructions for future ref-
erence.
