17. The power tool produces toxic exhaust gases as
soon as the engine is running. Never work in en-
closed or poorly ventilated spaces.
18. To detect significant damage or defects, it is nec-
essary to inspect the device before use and af-
ter a fall.
19. If any liquid is spilled while filling the oil or fuel
tank, the device must be cleaned before use.
As a chainsaw user, there are a number of points
you need to be aware of in order to carry out
your sawing work without accidents or injuries.
1. A basic understanding of kick-backs can reduce
or eliminate the element of surprise. Sudden,
ill-considered reactions contribute to accidents.
2. With the engine running, hold the chainsaw firmly
with both hands, with your right hand on the rear
handle and your left hand on the front handle.
Thumb and fingers must firmly grasp the han-
dles of the chainsaw. A firm grip helps you to ab-
sorb recoils and maintain control of the chainsaw.
Don't let go.
3. Ensure that the area in which you are working is
free of obstacles. The tip of the guide rail must not
come into contact with any tree trunks, branches
or similar when cutting with the chainsaw.
4. Cut at high engine speed.
5. Do not bend too far forward or cut above shoul-
der height.
6. Sharpen and maintain the chainsaw in accord-
ance with the manufacturer's instructions.
7. If the device becomes jammed whilst cutting, it
must be turned off immediately and carefully freed.
Then the device should be checked for damage
(e.g. bent guide rail) and then a trial run should be
carried out.
To guide the chainsaw, place the claw stop di-
rectly on the wood to be cut. It is also recom-
mended to use the claw stop to cut branches
with a large diameter.
The claw stop must be firmly attached to the
wood before cutting with the chainsaw running.
Lift the end of the chainsaw with the rear handle
and guide it with the bracket handle. The claw
acts as a pivot point. It can be moved by press-
ing lightly on the handle. The saw can thus be
easily pulled back. Push in the claw and lift the
rear handle again.
Only use approved combinations of saw chain
and guide rail (see chapter 15)!
The set of blade and saw chain supplied in the scope
of delivery is optimised for the chainsaw.

When pairing components that do not match, the set
of blade and saw chain can be irreparably damaged
after just a short time and cause injuries.
m NOTE
The following appendix is intended mainly for the end
user or occasional user. The chainsaw is designed
for occasional use by homeowners, gardeners and
campers and is used for all general tasks, e.g. clear-
ing, cutting firewood, etc. It is not designed for work-
ing over extended periods of time. In the case of ex-
tended working periods, the operating personnel
may suffer circulatory disturbances in their hands (vi-
bration white finger) due to vibrations. Raynaud's
syndrome is a vascular disease that causes the small
blood vessels on the fingers and toes to cramp in
spasms. The affected areas are no longer supplied
with sufficient blood and therefore appear extreme-
ly pale. The frequent use of vibrating devices can
cause nerve damage in people whose circulation is
impaired (e.g. smokers, diabetics).
If you notice unusual adverse effects, stop working
immediately and seek medical advice. Observe the
following information to reduce hazards:
• Keep your body and especially your hands warm
in cold weather.
• Take regular breaks and move your hands to pro-
mote circulation.
• Ensure as little vibration as possible at the device
via regular maintenance and stable parts on the
machine.
5.2 Personal safety
• Do not work with the chainsaw one-handed! Oth-
erwise, there is a risk of injury to the operator,
helpers or spectators. This chainsaw is designed
for two-handed operation.
• Wear your personal protective equipment (PPE),
consisting of: Cut-resistant shoes, cut-resistant
trousers, high-visibility jacket or vest, gloves, hard
hat with visor, and hearing protection.
• When you start the chainsaw or use it to cut, there
must be no other people in the vicinity. Keep by-
standers and animals away from the work area.
• When the engine is running, all parts of the body
must point away from the chainsaw.
5.3 Safety instructions for handling flammable
operating materials
1. WARNING! Petrol is easily flammable.
2. Store petrol in tanks specifically designed for this
purpose.
3. Only refuel outdoors and do not smoke.
