L'usura su queste catene si manifesta:
1 Sulle articolazioni con conseguente
allungamento della catena.
2 Sul profilo delle piastre laterali per
contatto con le pulegge e i sistemi di
guida.
3 Sui fianche delle piastre esterne e
sulle testate dei perni per contatto con
le flange delle pulegge o con eventuali
dispositivi di guida.

per usura
Per tenere sotto controllo l'allungamento
della catena è consigliabile predisporre
un modulo di registrazione come
allegato.
Poichè verosimilmente l'usura non sarà
uniforme lungo tutta la lunghezza della
catena, la misurazione deve essere
effettuata per tratti (suddividere la lun-
ghezza totale in 5 - 15 tratti) che vanno
opportunamente identificati.
Deve essere rilevata la misura iniziale
che serve di riferimento per quelle
sucessive, e va tenuto presente che
tutte le sucessive misurazioni devono
avvenire sugli stessi tratti.
Dopo alcune misure è possibile
identificare quali tratti sono maggior-
mente sottoposti al fenomeno di usura e
quindi le misurazioni successive posso-
no essere limitate solo a questi tratti.
La misura può essere fatta o con calibro
corsoio sufficientemente lungo o con
riga millimetrata. Il riferimento può esse-
re o la testa dei perni o il profilo della
piastra.
La misurazione deve essere fatta con la
catena in tensione (tenere premuto per
qualche secondo la leva sfilo braccio)
nel tratto rettilineo.
Il limite massimo di allungamento è fis-
sato al 2 % tenendo conto dell'indeboli-
mento dovuto all'asportazione di mate-
riale da parti che influiscono sulle carat-
teristiche resistenziali della catena e dal
consumo degli strati duri superficiali (per
perni cementati).

Dopo ever visivamente identificato il trat-
to di catena dove questo fenomeno è
più evidente, con un calibro deve essere
rilevata l'altezza effettiva dell'occhiello
delle piastre e confrontata con quella ini-
ziale.
Vengono fissati questi limiti di usura
massima (fare riferimento E9A):
Consumo su un solo lato:
[(H-H1):H]x100 ≤ 2%
Consumo su due lati:
[(H-H2):H]x100 ≤ 3,5%

Wear on these chains occurs:
1 On the articulations, with consequent
stretching of the chains
2 On the profile of the lateral plates, due
to contact with the pulleys and the
guide systems.
3 On the sides of the outside plates and
on the heads of the pins due to
contact with the pulley flanges or any
guide devices.

to wear
In order to keep a check on stretching
due to wear, an adjustment form should
be prepared as follows.
Since probably the wear will not be
uniform along the entire length, the
measurement must be made in sections
(subdivide the total length into 5 – 15
sections) which must be suitably
marked.
The initial measurement must be recor-
ded to serve as reference for those
which
follow; remember that all subsequent
measurements must be made on the
same sections.
After a few measurements, it will be
possible to identify the sections most
subject to wear, and so subsequent
measurements can be made on these
sections only.
The measurement can be made using a
slider gauge of sufficient length or with a
millimetre ruler. The reference point
may be the heads of the pins or the
plate
profile.
The measurement must be made with
the chain taut (keep the boom extension
lever pressed for a few seconds) and on
the straight section.
The maximum limit for stretching is set
at 2 % bearing in mind the weakening
due to the removal of material from parts
which affect the chain's strength charac-
teristics and wear on the hard surface
layers (for case-hardened pins).

After visually identifying the section of
chain where this phenomenon is most
noticeable, a gauge must be used to
measure the actual height of the plate
eye, which must then be compared with
the
initial measurement.
These maximum wear limits are set
(refer to E9A):
Wear on one side only:
[(H-H1):H]x100 ≤ 2%
Wear on both sides:
[(H-H2):H]x100 ≤ 3,5%

Die Abnutzung der Ketten wird ange-
zeigt:
1. An den Gliedern der Kette bei entspre
chender Längung(F)
2 . Am äußeren Profil der Kettenglieder
(H).
3. An den äußeren Flanken der
Kettenglieder (R) und
an den Enden der Kettenbolzen (S).

Kettenlängung.
Um die Kettenlängung (F)
Abnutzung zu kontrollieren, wird empfoh-
len, ein Prüfwerkzeug zu verwnden
(Kettenlinial oder ähnliches).
Da die Abnutzung auf die Gesammtlänge
der Kette nicht gleichmäßig ist, muß
die Messung in Abschnitten vorgenom-
men werden (die Gesamtlänge in 5-15
Abschnitte unterteilen).
Die Anfangslänge( Neue Kette) muss
gemessen werden, da
Bezugswert für die folgenden
Messungen dient, und es muß darauf
geachtet werden, daß alle folgenden
Messungen in den gleichen Abschnitten
vorgenommen werden.
Nach einigen Messungen kann festge-
stellt werden, welche Abschnitte der
Abnutzung unterliegen und die folgenden
Messungen können dann auf diese
Abschnitte beschränkt werden.
Die Messung kann mit einem ausrei-
chend langen und geeigneten
Kettenlineal oder einem ähnlichen
Meßwerkzeug mit
Millimeterskala vorgenommen werden.
Als Bezugspunkt werden die
Bolzenköpfe verwendet.
Die Messung muß bei gespannter Kette
im geradlinigen Abschnitt vorgenommen
werden. Die max. Grenze der Längung,
unter Berücksichtigung der
Schwächung durch Abtrag von Material,
welche sich auf die Widerstandsfähigkeit
der Kette auswirkt, sowie der Abnutzung
der harten Oberflächenschichten (für
gehärtete bolzen) beträgt 2% .

Plattenprofils auf bnutzung
Nach einer eingehenden Sichtkontrolle
der Kette und der Plattenprofile (H), mit
einer Schieblehre an der schwästen
Stelle die Prüfung beginnen.
Prüfung an mehreren Abschnitten wie-
derholen
Folgende Werte für die max. Abnutzung
(auf E9A)
