Piston pin clip removal and installation
1. Remove and install:
Piston pin clip
NOTE:
Before removing or installing the piston pin
clip, cover the crankcase opening with a
clean rag to prevent the piston pin clip from
falling into the crankcase.
Piston inspection
1. Eliminate:
Carbon deposits
(from the piston crown and piston
ring grooves)
2. Inspect:
Piston wall
Score marks → Repair with 600 ~ 800
grit wet sandpaper or replace.
NOTE:
Lightly sand the piston wall in a crisscross
pattern.
3. Measure:
Piston skirt diameter
(with a micrometer)
Out of specification → Replace.
Piston diameter
83.902 ~ 83.921 mm
(3.3032 ~ 3.3040 in)
