Ultrasonic Unit SonicWeld Rx®
Instructions for Use
• Screw the sonotrode manually in place on the handpiece and use the open-end wrench (12,
front fold-out page) to check it for secure attachment (torque: max. 0.3 Nm). Note that the wrench is
shipped non-sterile, so it needs to be sterilized prior to use.
Disconnection from the supply system!
The SonicWeld Rx® must be set up so that it can be easily and reliably disconnected from the power
supply.
• The ultrasonic unit features 2 connecting sockets for handpieces (2, front fold-out page). This enables
you to connect 2 handpieces in order to work alternatingly with 2 sonotrodes (e.g. 2 standard
sonotrodes or 1 standard sonotrode and 1 smoothing sonotrode).
• Plug the mains cable into the ultrasonic unit (5, front fold-out page) and then into a mains socket-outlet
with ground contact. As soon as the unit has been connected to the power supply, it is automatically set
to standby mode. Therefore, full disconnection is possible only by pulling the plug of the mains cable out
of the socket-outlet.
Explosion hazard!
• The SonicWeld Rx® is not suitable for use in atmospheres enriched with flammable mixtures of
anesthetics and air, oxygen or nitrous oxide.
• Make sure that no objects or appliances will be deposited on the ultrasonic unit.
• Observe the recognized rules when connecting sterilized system components to non-sterile
equipment!
Danger of injury due to malfunction!
SonicWeld Rx® must not be placed close to or stacked with other devices (always maintain separation
distance!), see section 10, "Guidelines and Manufacturer's Declaration Regarding Electromagnetic
Compatibility (EMC)", page 86.
If operation in close proximity to or in a stack with other devices is unavoidable, the SonicWeld Rx® must
be monitored to verify its proper performance in such a setup.
