Transfer block
During the two steps that comprise this block, a toner image on the photosensitive drum transfers to the
paper.
Step 4: image transfer
The toner on the photosensitive drum is transferred to the paper. The transfer bias is applied to the
transfer roller to charge the paper positive. The negatively charged toner on the drum surface transfers
onto the paper.

Step 5: separation from the drum
The elasticity of the paper and the curvature of the photosensitive drum cause the paper to separate
from the photosensitive drum. The static charge eliminator bias is applied to the static charge
eliminator. The static charge eliminator reduces back side static discharge of the paper after the
transfer process for stable paper-feed and print-quality.
