If
engine
case is excessively greasy,
apply degreaser w i t h a paint brush. Do
not apply degreaser to chain, sprockets,
or wheel axles.

Rinse dirt and degreaser off w i t h garden
hose, using o n l y enough hose pressure
to do the job. Excessive hose pressure
may cause water seepage and contamina-
tion of wheel bearings, front forks, brake
drums,
and
transmission
seals.
Many
expensive repair bills have resulted f r o m
improper
high
pressure detergent
ap-
plications
such
as those available
in
coin-operations car washes.

Once the majority of the dirt has been
hosed off, wash all surfaces w i t h warm
water
and m i l d , detergent-type
soap.
A n old tooth brush or bottle brush is
handy to reach hard-to-get-to places.
