Drive chain lubrication
T h e chain consists of many moving parts.
If the chain is not maintained properly, it will
wear out rapidly. Without lubrication the
chain c o u l d wear out w i t h i n 1,500 k m ; there-
fore, f o r m the habit of periodically servicing
the chain. This service is especially necessary
when riding in wet or dusty conditions.
1. Use Y a m a h a chain and cable spray
(where available) or other suitable spray
lubricant. First, remove dirt and mud
f r o m the chain w i t h a brush or cloth and
then spray the lubricant between both
rows of side plates and on all center
rollers. This should be performed at least
every 1,000 k m .
