In the event of danger, turn the system
kN
off at the main switch.
● Switch system analyser on at main switch (1).
The brake system analyser carries out an automatic self test.
After about 30 seconds all the indicator lights go out.
Both indicator dials are set at zero.
After another 10 seconds, the self test is complete and the
measuring system has undergone automatic zero calibration.
i Do not select "Automatic" operating mode during these
10 seconds. This would cause the brake system analyser to
change to calibration mode and you would be unable to
perform any tests.
Remedy: Switch off the brake system analyser and start it up
again as described above.
● Selecting the operating mode
Select the operating mode:
for automatic mode, press the „automatic" button (2)
or
A (F2)button (F2).
If the automatic mode is not selected, the brake system analyser
remains in manual mode.
The mode that has been selected is indicated by the light (4) on
the control and display unit.
i indicator light ON
= automatic mode
indicator light OFF = manual mode
● Testing individual wheels
This is only possible in conjunction with the remote control unit
(special accessory) and when the system is in manual mode.
● Switching on rollers in manual mode
Press LEFT button l (F4).
Press RIGHT button r (F5).
● Measuring pedal force
Pedal force is measured with a pedal dynamometer which is
attached to the brake pedal.
The pedal dynamometer is a special accessory which is supplied
with specific instructions for attaching it to the brake pedal.

Preparing the vehicle
Check the vehicle tyre pressure and make any adjustments that
are necessary.
! Sand on vehicles' tyres considerably shortens the service life
of the test rollers of the test bench (acts like emery paper).
Check the tyres before testing and clean them if necessary.
! The plastic coating of the test rollers is not suitable for tyres
with spikes.
A special version of roller is available for testing vehicles with such
tyres.

Measurement options
Brake systems can be tested in either automatic or manual mode.
8.1
Automatic mode
Press the „Automatic" button (2)
The „Automatic" indicator light (4) illuminates
or
press the A button (F2).
The „Automatic" indicator light (4) illuminates.
When the vehicle is driven onto the rollers, the drive motors start
up automatically one after the other.
i While the drive motors are running up to speed, the automa-
tic lamp flashes. During this period, it is neither possible to
perform a brake test nor input any information via the remote
control handset.
i For safety reasons, the automatic mode is cancelled if either
the wheels lock up or the sensing rollers report differing
positions when the drive motors are switched on (blocked
brake cut-off during start-up). Before automatic mode can be
selected again, the vehicle must be driven off the rollers.
8.2
Manual mode
By pressing the „Automatic" button (2) again, the system is
switched from automatic into the manual mode.
Press l button (F4) to switch on the left-hand rollers.
Wait until the rollers have run up to speed.
Press r button (F5) to switch on the right-hand rollers.
