Information for the user
The information contained in these operating
instructions is directed at operators of the BSA 25x
Brake System Analyser and its S versions, as well as
the operating company.
Operators are staff trained within the automotive
sector of industry. They must have been properly
instructed in the use of the brake system analyser, for
example by attending a Bosch training course. Chap-
ters 1 - 14 apply specifically to this group.
The operating company is responsible for the
overall conditions affecting the operation of the brake
system analyser (e.g. accident prevention measures,
systematic testing, etc.). Chapters 1,2 and 14 -22 are
of particular relevance to the operating company.
● Authorised usage
The BSA 25x Brake System Analyser is intended to
be used for testing the brake systems on motor
vehicles up to a maximum axle weight of 3 t for which
there is a statutory requirement to carry out periodic
inspections.
● Avoid improper usage
Do not use for testing motor cycle brakes.
Do not use the roller drive motors to start a vehicle
engine.
Drive the vehicle slowly onto the rollers in order to
avoid unnecessary stresses.
Only drive the vehicle off the rollers while they are
rotating.
● Operating conditions
– If installed outdoors:
Control cabinet must be protected from the ele-
ments and equipped with an interior heater
– Ambient operating temperature: –20 to +40 ºC
(reduced measuring accuracy)
– Temperature range for precise measurement:
0 to +40°C
– Test duration:
In order to prevent excessive heating of the roller
drive motors, it is recommended that if the throug-
hput is particularly high, vehicles are tested accor-
ding to the following cycle:
5 minute break after every 2 vehicles
