Configuration of the field transmitter and FF
functions
The FF communication system will only function properly if correctly configured.
The user can obtain special configuration and operating programme offered by the
different manufacturers for use in configuration. These can be used for configuring both
the FF functions and all the device-specific parameters. The predefined function blocks
allow uniform access to all the network and fieldbus device data.
Note:
• A step-by-step description of the procedure for commissioning the FF functions is
given on page 98, along with the configuration of device-specific parameters.
• You will need the following files for commissioning and network configuration:
– Commissioning → Device description (Device Description: *.sym, *.ffo)
– Network configuration → CFF file (Common File Format)
You can obtain these files as follows:
– Free of charge via the Internet: www.endress.com
– From Endress+Hauser stating the order number (No. 50097199)
– Via the Fieldbus Foundation Organisation: www.fieldbus.org

Installation checks

Make sure all final checks have been made befroe starting up the measuring point:
• Check list for "post connection check" → page 92
Note:
• The technical function data of the FOUNDATION Fieldbus interface to IEC 61158-2
must be maintained.
• The bus voltage of 9 to 32 V and the current consumption of 10 mA at the measuring
device can be checked using a normal multimeter.

Commissioning
Note the following points:
• The files required for commissioning and network configuration can be obtained as
described on chapter 5.2.
• The device is identified by the FOUNDATION Fieldbus in the host or configuration sys-
tem via the device ID (DEVICE_ID). The DEVICE_ID is a combination of the manufac-
turer ID, device type and device serial number. It is unique and can never be dupli-
cated. The DEVICE_ID of the TMT 165 is composed as follows:
Simulation mode
Simulation in the analogue input function block possible
Simulation in the analogue input function block not possible
