6.2.1 Initial commissioning

The following description allows step-by-step commissioning of the measuring device
and all the necessary configuration for the FOUNDATION Fieldbus:
1. Switch on the Measuring Device.
2. Note the DEVICE_ID on the device nameplate.
3. Open the configuration program.
4. Load the device description file or CFF file into the host system or into the configu-
ration program. The first time it is connected TMT 165 reports as follows:

5. Identify the field device using the DEVICE_ID that you noted down and assign the
desired field device tag name (PD_TAG) to the fieldbus device in question.
'Resource Block' configuration
6. Open the 'Resource Block'.
7. On delivery write protection is disabled so that you can access all the write param-
eters. Check this status via the parameter WRITE_LOCK:
– Write protection activated = LOCKED
– Write protection deactivated = NOT LOCKED
8. Enter the desired block name.
9. Set the operating mode in the parameter group MODE_BLK (parameter TARGET)
to AUTO.
'Transducer Block' configuration
10. Enter the desired block name.
11. Open the 'Transducer Block'.
12. Set the operator mode in the parameter group MODE_BLK (parameter TARGET) to
OOS, i.e. block 'Out of service'.
13. Now configure all device specific parameters for the temperature measurement.
