11.3 Transducer Block

The Transducer Block of the TMT 165 FF contains all the measurement- and device-
specific parameters of the flowmeter. All the settings directly connected with the flow
measurement/application are made here. It forms the interface between the sensor-
specific measured value preprocessing and the Analogue Input Function Blocks
required for automation.
The input signal is processed in the transducer block and is available to the AI block for
further processing as a PRIMARY_VALUE. Parameters for sensor type, connection
mode and operation mode are available for configuration as SENSOR_TYPE,
SENSOR_CONNECTION und PRIMARY_VALUE_TYPE in the transducer block.
If operating in modes "Differential temperature", "Backup" and "Two channel" only 2-wire
connection is possible.
The limits of the PRIMARY_VALUE and the engineering units, Ohm, mV, °C, °F, R, K are
set up in the AI Block using the parameter XD_SCALE.
The transducer number is set using the parameter SENSOR_TRANSDUCER_NUMBER.
Two transducer blocks are only required when operating in "two channel" operating
mode.
In operating mode "Backup" a switchover from sensor 1 to sensor 2 is active on failure
of sensor 1, on "Differential temperature" the temperature difference between 1 and 2 is
transmitted.
The parameter SENSOR_TRANSDUCER_NUMBER must correspond with the
parameter CHANNEL with the individual transducer block allocated AI Block.
Operating mode AUTO is only active in the transducer blockonce the AI Block is in
AUTO operating mode.
The major functions and parameters of the Transducer Block are listed below; you will
find an overview of all the available parameters starting on page 119.

11.3.1 Selecting operating mode

The operating mode is set via the parameter group MODE_BLK
(see page 119). The Resource Block supports the following operating modes:
FOUNDATION Fieldbus temperature transmitter
Specifies the behaviour of a write protected alarm
(Parameter "WRITE_ALM").
User input: 0
=
the write protection alarm is not evaluated.
1
=
no report to the fieldbus host system
in the event of a write protection alarm.
2
= reserved for block alarms.
3-7 = the write protection alarm is output with
the appropriate priority (3 = low priority,
7 = high priority) to the fieldbus host system
as a user notice.
8-15 = the write protection alarm is output with the
appropriate priority (8 = low priority,
15 = high priority) to the fieldbus host
system as a critical alarm.
