Brake tester and test lane
4.1.1
General safety instructions
Observe all safety instructions and hazard warnings
and make sure they are all complete and clearly legi-
ble at all times.
Make sure operating and safety instructions are
always close at hand at the operating site.
Immediately rectify any faults that could impair
safety.
As the operator, make sure the displays are visible
during operation.
4.1.2

When not in use

Do not leave vehicles on the brake tester or test lane.
If the brake tester or test lane connects different
parts of the workshop or is accessible to the public,
block it off or cover it when it is not in use.

Safety systems

If the vehicle leaves the roller set or the sensing
rollers move upwards during the brake test, the drive
rollers will be switched off automatically.
If the brake force exceeds the rolling resistance
between the wheel and the test rollers, the wheel will
start to slip (lock up). In that case, the test bench
control unit will switch off the drive rollers automati-
cally.
i
If the difference between roller speed and wheel
speed is too great (> 25 %), the rolling resistance
between the wheel and the test roller will be mea-
sured instead of the brake force. The measurement
result of the brake test will be useless. Slip monito-
ring also prevents tire damage.
If the drive rollers run longer than 60 seconds wit-
hout a brake test taking place, the test bench control
unit will automatically switch off the drive rollers.

4.2.2
Prior to testing
The service engineer must make all required configu-
ration settings and calibrate the sensors.
Before initial commissioning and then regularly, at
least every 2 years, the safety systems must be ins-
pected by an expert (routine inspection).
Make sure operation is in line with the intended use.
Mark the edge of the working pit with a permanent
painted warning (DIN 4844) that is visible at all
times.
Do not exceed the specified test load (see product
description).
Risk of injury in the area of the test rollers!
Safety measures:
Before operation, make sure no vehicle is on the test
bench.
Before using the main switch to switch on the brake
tester or test lane, make sure there are no people
near the roller set.
