4.2.3 Testing passenger cars
and commercial vehicles
Driving onto the test bench
Risk of injury in the area of the test rollers!
When the key "Automatic" is pressed, the test
rollers will start automatically. The vehicle will
drift in an uncontrolled manner.
Safety measures:

Make sure there is no vehicle on the test bench.
¶
Make sure there are no people near the roller set.
¶
Observe the accident prevention regulations.
¶
In an emergency, apply the emergency stop switch.
¶
Operate truck test benches on top of pits only with a
pit guard.
¶
Before driving on, make sure the brake tester or test
lane is free of snow and ice.
¶

To avoid unnecessary stress on the vehicle and test
bench, drive the vehicle on the roller set slowly.

As the operator, check if vehicles with low ground
clearance can be tested on the brake tester.

Do not use the test roller motors of the brake tester
to start vehicle engines.

Testing
¶
Test vehicles with permanent all-wheel drive only
in manual mode or all-wheel drive super automatic
mode.
!
Vehicles with locked or "quasi-locked" all-wheel drive
cannot be tested.
¶
Brake testing can only take place if both wheels of
the vehicle axle push the sensing rollers down.
¶
At the start of brake testing, a correct rolling resis-
tance measurement can only be taken if the user
does not apply the brakes when the drive rollers are
switched on.
Driving off the test bench
¶
If the brake tester has no electromagnetic motor
brake, always switch on the brake tester motors to
assist with driving off. The vehicle wheels are sup-
ported by the test rollers when driving off. Failure to
observe this can lead to damage to the brake tester.

bench, drive the vehicle off the roller set slowly.
