3.17 Hazards during decommissioning
Hazards during decommissioning, disassembly
and disposal!
Safety measure:
¶
The following work on the brake tester or test lane
may only be performed by trained personnel:

Hazards posed by improper disassembly!
Stored residual energy in pneumatic or hydrau-
lic units can lead to sever injury.
Sharp corners and edges on the brake tester
or test lane or on the required tools can lead
to injury.
Components and tools laid aside can lead to
injury.

Safety measures:
¶
Before disassembly, switch off the brake tester or
test lane and secure it to prevent it from being swit-
ched on inadvertently.
¶
Provide enough space for disassembly ahead of time.
¶
Before disassembly, secure components to prevent
them from falling.
¶
Disconnect the voltage supply lines (electrics, pneu-
matics and hydraulics) of the brake tester or test
lane.
¶
Release any stored residual energy (electrics, pneu-
matics, hydraulics).
¶
Collect operating fluids, auxiliary substances and
other materials separately and dispose of them in
accordance with applicable local regulations for
occupational health and safety and environmental
protection.
¶
Handle sharp components with care.
¶
Keep the working space tidy and clean.
¶
Disassemble components properly.
¶
Keep in mind the considerable weight of some com-
ponents.
¶
Use appropriate equipment for securing and lifting
loads.
¶
Consult with the manufacturer for clarification.
