Emptying the fuel tank

The genset must be drained prior to major repairs and also before certain transportations.
You need to completely empty the fuel tank for this.
Open the fuel tank. The tank cap is secured by a
¨
retaining strap.
¨
Remove the filter insert from the filler neck by
simply pulling it upwards.
¨
Use a suction unit that is suitable for removing
petrol. The maximum tank capacity is 3.9 litres.
Suck out the entire contents of the tank.
¨
Decant the removed fuel into a lockable canister that has been approved for storing this
¨
fuel. Use the fuel soon.
Perform the following steps in order to remove any remaining residual fuel from the tank,
¨
supply pipes and carburettor:
– Start up the genset and operate it without load.
– Wait until the lack of fuel switches off the genset.

During operation, do not touch any components not identified as control
elements. If necessary, switch off the genset and wait until it has cooled
down sufficiently.
¨
Pay particular attention to the exhaust outlet at the back of the housing.
Wear safety gloves as a precaution, and also wear eye protection when
¨
handling hot consumables.

Preparing for start-up

ATTENTION!
Safe and faultless operation is only possible if the genset is in proper condition
and if all requirements have been fulfilled at the place of use.
¨
Perform the inspections below before every start-up.
In particular, follow the instructions for putting a new genset into
¨
operation for the first time.
Only start the genset if the respective necessary criteria are fulfilled.
