Connecting consumers

Check the electrical connection:
¨
– The genset must be earthed, see
– The total load of the electrical consumers must not exceed the rated power of
the genset. For details of this, compare the technical data of the consumers (e.g.
information on the rating plate) with the performance values of your genset, see
"8.2 Technical data" on
¨ Check the length of the supply cables and how they are laid:
– The maximum permissible cable lengths must be adhered to, see
connection" on
– The supply cables must not be damaged.
– All supply cables must be laid so that they are not a trip hazard and, depending on
the place of use, also so that they can be safely driven over.
– All supply cables must be routed so that no damage from hot surfaces, sharp edges
or similar can occur during operation.
Connect the supply cables of the consumers directly to the genset's sockets.

6.3.1

AC operation

The AC socket is designed for operating exactly one consumer.
¨ Open the cap of the 230 V AC socket (earthing contact in acc. with DIN 49440/441):
– Rotate this one quarter of a turn
anticlockwise (bayonet cap).
– Remove the cap; it is secured by a
retaining strap.
¨ You can connect the consumer after starting
the genset:
– Make sure that the consumer is switched
off.
– Plug the consumer's connecting cable
into the 230 V AC socket. Use a suitable
extension cable if necessary.
Put the consumer into operation in the usual way.
¨
¨ You should close the 230 V AC socket after every use. The cap protects against
contamination and spray water (protection type IP68).

ATTENTION!
It is also permissible to connect consumers while the genset is running.
However, it is essential for the consumer in question to be switched off when it
is plugged into the socket.
Do not connect consumers until you have checked the criteria stated here.
