Normal mode and overload protection

The indicator lamps OUTPUT INDICATOR and OVERLOAD ALERT always show whether the
genset is in normal mode or in overload operation.
The following indications are possible:
Green LED:
Operation indicator
(OUTPUT INDICATOR)
LED lights up green. LED is off.
LED lights up green. LED lights up yellow
LED is off.
LED is off.

Cooling system

The genset has fan cooling to cool the engine and the generator. An additional protective
thermostatic switch switches off the genset in time if there is a risk of the components
overheating.

3.5.6.1 Fan cooling

The fan cooling consists of a fan that sucks in fresh ambient air and at the same time also
uses the resulting air flow to dissipate the heated outgoing air. Structural measures such as
cooling fins and components that guide the flow ensure optimum transfer of the waste heat
to the air flowing past. The housing's ventilation slots occasionally need to be cleared of dust
and stuck-on materials in order to ensure sufficient cooling performance.

ATTENTION!
Relieve immediately if the indicator lamp OVERLOAD ALERT lights up for
¨
longer than 4 seconds. Switch off the consumers and the genset and check
the connected loads.
Extended overload operation can reduce the service life of the genset and
¨
cause defects. Take the genset for an inspection if the fault occurs more
frequently.
Yellow LED:
Overload alert
(OVERLOAD ALERT)
(max. 4 seconds).
LED flashing yellow
(slow flashing).
LED flashing yellow
(rapid flashing).
ATTENTION!
The fan is driven by the engine and can therefore only produce its cooling
performance during operation.
¨ For optimum cooling before every shutdown, allow the genset to run
without load for at least 1 more minute.
Remedy
The genset is in normal mode.
No action required.
The genset has just been started.
This can occur and is normal when the yellow
LED goes out after 4 seconds.
The genset is slightly overloaded.
Cease use quickly and check the state and
connected loads of the consumer.
The genset is indicating a high overload.
Switch off the genset immediately.
Examine and remedy possible causes.
