ƒ If a low oil level occurs during operation, power generation is stopped by the engine
being switched off.
In all cases, the engine cannot be started again until the cause of the low oil level has been
remedied. See
3.5.2

Economy mode

In economy mode, the engine speed is reduced by means of a throttle valve system as soon
as all consumers have been switched off or disconnected. The result of this is reduced petrol
consumption and lower noise emissions. The engine speed is automatically increased again
when the consumer is switched on. The following switch settings are possible:
ƒ ON: Economy mode activated.
Only activate economy mode to supply appliances with low and constant power
consumption (e.g. lighting).
ƒ OFF: Economy mode deactivated.
Deactivate economy mode when a DC consumer is connected or an AC consumer with a
high or sporadic performance requirement (e.g. electric motors).
3.5.3

Choke

With petrol engines, the choke protective function facilitates starting of the engine in cold
ambient conditions: Pulling the choke lever closes the choke and limits the air supply to
the combustion chamber. This is necessary particularly when the engine is cold after an
extended operating pause or when the air temperature at the place of use is very low.
After start-up, the engine reaches its optimum operating temperature within the first
minutes (warm-up phase). At very low ambient temperatures, this can take somewhat longer
than is usual under normal conditions. During this warm-up phase, the choke is pushed back
step by step in order to end restriction of the air supply.

ATTENTION!
Economy mode may not be activated if a direct current consumer is
connected. It is also not suitable for alternating current operation with a high
load.
ATTENTION!
The choke function must not be used when the air temperature is high or
when the engine is warm.
¨
Only pull the choke lever if the following conditions apply:
– Cold start: The engine has completely cooled down since it was last in
use.
– Cold ambient air: The intake of very cold air should also be restricted
when an engine is started up with residual heat still present.
Subject to change.
