Drain water and sediment from the fuel tank
•
Place proper catchment container beneath the fuel tank drain plug.
•
Slightly lift up the power generator on the opposite side.
•
Remove the fuel drain plug.
•
Drain at least 1 or 2 litres (0.3 to 0.5 U.S. gal) of fuel to remove the water and sediment.
It is evident that invisible particles of dirt in sediment which might pass through the filter will
damage the finely finished parts of the fuel injection system.
6.1.3.
Replace the fuel prefilter
Depending on the degree of contamination of the used fuel, the fuel pre filter needs to be changed.
The pollution of the filter can be assessed through the transparent housing.
•
Loosen the clamps (B) with an screwdriver and pull away the clamps from the filter (A).
•
Pull the fuel lines (D) from the filter by rotating them.
•
Check the fuel lines for cracks or leaks. Replace if necessary.
•
Replace the fuel filter with an original equipment replacement filter (Order-no: 901150).
During installation, note the flow direction. (Arrow pointing towards the engine)
•
Slide the fuel lines carefully on the filter.
•
Secure the fuel lines with the clamps as shown.
•
Start the engine and check the fuel system for leaks.
