Connecting the battery
¨
First prepare the 12 V DC battery being charged:
– Ideally, set it up on the right next to the genset in order to remain clear of the area
around the starter unit and exhaust system.
– Use the DC charging cable supplied.
– Connect the positive cable to the positive pole of the battery (red cable) first.
– Do not connect the clamp of the negative cable to the negative pole until you have
done this.
¨
Perform the following settings on the genset:
– Switch off economy mode, see
"3.5.2 Economy mode" on
– Switch on the circuit protection of the
DC connection by pressing in the safety
switch.
Start up the genset.
¨
¨
Plug the plug of the DC charging cable into
the 12 V DC connection. The connection is
protected against reverse polarity.
The charging process starts automatically.
The charging process can take some time,
depending on the battery's capacity.
Disconnecting the battery
You should disconnect the battery as soon as the charging is completed. Proceed in reverse
order to do this:
Pull the plug of the DC charging cable out of the genset.
¨
¨
Disconnect the negative cable from the battery's negative pole.
Disconnect the positive cable from the battery's positive pole.

ATTENTION!
If the rated current is exceeded while the battery is being charged, the circuit
protection is triggered and interrupts the charging process. You can continue
the charging by pressing in the safety switch.
If the circuit protection is triggered several times, there is a fault in the battery
or genset.
End charging immediately and remedy the cause.
¨
¨
Follow the appropriate instructions in the battery manual.
If in doubt, consult a qualified specialist workshop.
