Select the viscosity according to the ambient temperature at the installation
site and change the oil in good time.

Checking the oil level and topping up the engine oil

ATTENTION!
Always make the following preparations before opening the oil filler neck:
If necessary, allow the engine to cool down for at least 5 minutes.
¨
¨ Use a drain pan or an oil-tight underlay so that any escaping oil can be
collected in time.
¨ Make sure that the genset is flat and horizontal.
ATTENTION!
Putting into operation for the first time
During the running-in phase (approx. 200 operating hours), it is recommended
to check the oil level at least twice daily. The oil level must then be checked
before each use.
The oil filler neck is accessed by removing the small cover in the right side of the housing:
Use only engine oil that conforms to the specification recommended by the
¨
manufacturer, see "5.1.1 Oil specification" on
Grip the rubber tab on the bottom end of the cover and carefully pull the cover out of the
¨
clamp bracket.
The cover is secured by a retaining strap.
Unscrew the oil cover from the oil filler neck and check the oil level.
¨
¨ Perform one of the following steps, depending on the test result:
– No oil stuck to the oil cover: The oil level is
too low. Top up the engine oil.
– Minimum filling level: Engine oil is only
stuck to the bottom edge of the oil cover
thread. Top up the engine oil.
– Maximum filling level: The engine oil is
properly up to the edge of the oil filler neck.
No further action required.
¨ Use the supplied oil can so that no engine oil is spilled during topping-up.
¨ Top up with a sufficient amount of engine oil so that it is up to the edge of the oil filler
neck. The maximum oil filling capacity is 0.4 litres.
