Preparation and insertion
Go through the instructions for use carefully before inserting the product, as failure to follow instructions may
result in inaccurate medication delivery, infection and/or site irritation. For information about pump therapy,
including connection and priming procedures, possible errors, and potential risks and their causes, consult
your pump manufacturer's instructions for use before using the product. When using the product for the first
time, do so in the presence of a healthcare professional.

2 Wash your hands with soap and water.
3 Use an insertion site as recommended by your
healthcare professional. The choice of site depends
on treatment and patient specific factors. Check that
the insertion site is free of skin irritation such as red-
ness, scar tissue, etc.
4 Clean the area of insertion with a disinfectant as
recommended by your healthcare professional.
Be sure the area is air dried before inserting the
product. If needed, remove hair around the inser-
tion site to ensure proper attachment of the adhe-
sive tape (E) to the skin.
5 Open the blister pack and take out the contents.
6 Pull gently to remove the paper (F) from the adhe-
sive tape (E). Be careful not to touch the adhesive
tape (E).
7 Remove the safeguard (B) from the insertion de-
vice (A) by gently squeezing the sides of the safe-
guard (B) while pulling it straight out.
8 Before placing the insertion device (A) against the
skin, note the arrows (D) on the insertion device
(A) showing where the tubing (J) will be connected
after insertion.
9 Gently stretch the skin and ensure that the surface
is flat and taut. Position the insertion device (A) on
the skin and press the red activation button (C)
completely down to insert the infusion set. The in-
sertion is complete when the insertion device (A)
