UNCTION CONTROL OF THE
s
TeeRInG seRvO
The steering servo is connected with channel 1 of the remote control transmitter to the steering wheel.
Structure of steering
The steering of GP Buggy Chassis „Big Pyro" RTR is desi-
gned as axle leg steering.
A control lever is screwed onto the servo shaft of the overarm
built-in steering servo; its two arms in the neutral position right
and left point vertically at the vehicle longitudinal axis.
The turning movement of the servo shaft is transmitted via both
arms with two linkages onto the servo saver and from there
via the right and left steering link onto the steering lever and
thus onto the wheels. The steering stop limit is limited by the
mechanical stop of a pin at the steering knuckle arm against the
steering knuckle support.
Function control of the steering servo:
-
Support the model at the front in a way that allows the wheels to hang freely.
Because of the good adhesion of the tires and because of the weight of the vehicle, in the stand and
on the ground, the wheels will not follow your steering spontaneously and directly.
This however changes during operation.
-
First, switch on the transmitter, then the receiver.
-
Move the steering wheel (channel 1) towards the right and the left.
Now the wheels must drive in towards the right and the left!
-
Release the remote control lever; now the wheels must turn in straight line again.
If the wheels turn in the opposite direction, switch the servo reverse at the remote control into the „REV"
position (reverse).
-
If the wheels do not stand straight when the lever of the remote control is in neutral position, correct
the position by moving the trim lever on channel 1.
The control lever limit stops must limit the right / left limit stops of the steering!

The throttle/brake servo is connected to channel 2 of the remote control transmitter.
Mode of action and setting of throttle/brake linkage
With the throttle/brake linkage two functions are carried out at the same time via two servo steering levers.
Via the throttle linkage, by twisting the throttle valve, the air supply to the engine is regulated.
At the same time, the quantity of fuel that flows through the carburettor changes. If the throttle linkage is moved further than
the idle position (mechanical limit stop of the carburettor slide), the servo lever pushes against a buffer.
Now the sphere of action of the brake linkage becomes effective.
The positioning of the adjusting rings (the mechanical end stop) of the stop spring at the throttle linkage and at
the rear brake linkages are set ex works and adapted to the mechanical end stops of the carburettor and the disk
brake.
A visual check of the position of the throttle valve is possible after removing the cover of the air filter hous-
ing with open choke valve.
Full throttle:
Throttle valve fully opened (1), brake has no effect
Idle speed:
Throttle valve almost fully shut,
adjusting rings at the brake lever are loose.
Brakes:
Carburet throttle control presses against spring resistance
Rear brake linkage applies the adjusting ring against the brake
lever. Brake action is active.
