d) Attaching the glow plug

If the glow plug is provided separately, it must be screwed to the corresponding hole on the cylinder head using a
suitable glow plug wrench. Do not use force when securing the glow plug.
Glow plugs have a tendency to wear out, especially during the break-in phase . Deposits (scale) on the
coiled filament can lead to problems during startup or operation.
We recommend that you keep a few replacement glow plugs so that you can replace the glow plug when it
becomes worn out. Glow plugs have different thermal ranges (e.g "cold" and "hot" glow plugs).
Only use glow plugs for RC model vehicles! Using the wrong type of glow plug (e.g. for 4-stroke model
aeroplanes) will prevent the engine from functioning properly and affect the tuning.
In principle, the following rules apply: The higher the nitromethane content in the fuel or the higher the
ambient temperature, the "colder" the glow plug should be.
Use a "hot" glow plug if the fuel contains a low percentage of nitromethane (e.g. for the engine break-in
phase) or when using the vehicle in low outdoor temperatures.

e) Lubricating the oil filter

The air filter consists of a foam part that is placed inside a plastic housing with a suction opening. The air filter (foam
part) was oiled slightly during production.
The oil in the air filter is designed to attract fine dust particles and prevent them from entering the engine.
Fine dust particles can significantly increase the wear on the piston and cylinder wall and lead to a loss of
performance. Using the engine when the air filter is not lubricated may cause permanent damage to the
engine and will void the warranty/guarantee.
To remove the air filter from its housing, unscrew the re-
taining screw (A).
Unscrew the screw (B), and then remove the air filter
cover.
Before each use, check that the air filter is lubricated cor-
rectly. Never drive the vehicle if the air filter is not lubri-
cated!
To oil the filter, use a special air filter oil (not included,
available separately).
Insert the air filter (only the foam ring) into a small plastic
bag and add a few drops of air filter oil.
Close the plastic bag and squeeze the air filter together several times to ensure that the air filter oil covers the air filter.
Reassemble the air filter.
Wash the air filter from time to time (depending on the amount of dust) with benzene and replace it when
necessary. Follow the steps above to lubricate the air filter again.
