b) Engine and fuel

• Observe the break-in regulations for the engine.
• Only use a methanol/oil-base fuel designed for model vehicles (5% to 25% nitromethane and 16%
synthetic oil). Never use conventional vehicle fuel or mixtures containing vehicle fuel! Never use fuel
designed for model aeroplanes, as the oil content is too low.
• Store fuel under lock and key and ensure that it is kept out of the reach of children. Keep fuel in well-
ventilated rooms. Stored fuel must not exceed permissible quantities.
• Fuel is highly flammable and fuel vapours are highly explosive! Never smoke when handling fuels (e.g.
when refuelling). Stay away from open flames and other sources of ignition! Risk of explosion or fire!
• Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and skin – health hazard! Consult a doctor immediately
if you feel unwell!
• Fuel can corrode and damage paint and rubber parts.
• Never spill fuel. Use a special fuel bottle to refuel the vehicle. Spilled fuel damages the environment and
may cause a fire or explosion!
• Check the seal on the hose connections and tank lid before each use.
• The vehicle must be driven outdoors. Do not inhale the fuel and exhaust fumes, as these are harmful
to your health!
• If you do not plan to use the vehicle for an extended period, pump out any remaining fuel from the tank.
• Only transport the model when the tank is empty! Empty the tank if you do not plan to drive the model
for several days.
• Only use appropriate containers to transport fuel.
• Empty fuel containers and fuel residue are hazardous waste and must be disposed of accordingly.
• Follow all instructions and safety information provided by the fuel manufacturer.

c) Driving the vehicle

• Check the vehicle for signs of damage before and after each use. Rectify any damage before using the
vehicle.
Damage to the vehicle may endanger you or other people/spectators (e.g. a stiff steering system that
makes the vehicle difficult to control).
Replace worn tyres promptly.
• Check that the screw connections are secure before and after each use, as the vehicle vibrates during
use and may cause them to become loose.
• The range of the remote control decreases when the batteries are nearly empty. In addition, the servo
may not function effectively when the receiver batteries are nearly empty. Check that there is sufficient
battery power remaining before each use.
Check that the receiver batteries have sufficient power remaining before each use. If the battery level
is too low, the servo may not respond to the remote control commands, or the receiver may respond
unexpectedly.
Discontinue use immediately (stop the engine and turn off the receiver and remote control) if the receiver
does not respond correctly. Replace or recharge the batteries as necessary.
