5. Required accessories

A number of accessories are required to use the vehicle. These accessories are not included with the product. Expe-
rienced model vehicle drivers should have these accessories. Beginners must purchase the following accessories in
order to use the vehicle:
• Batteries or rechargeable batteries for the remote control (refer to the remote control instructions for the required
type and quantity)
• Rechargeable battery for the receiver (hump pack design with BEC connection, 5 cells, 6V, min. 1300 mAh recom-
mended)
• Glow plug starter with rechargeable battery
• Battery charger for remote control, receiver and/or glow plug starter battery
• Glow plug wrench
• Air filter oil
• Tank bottle
• Methanol/oil-based RC model vehicle fuel (see "Technical data")
• After run oil

We also recommend the following components to ensure optimal results:
• Start box (electrically-operated rubber flywheel makes the engine easier to start and maintain/conduct test runs)
• Mechanical or electrical model fuel pump (for filling and emptying the tank)
• Additional glow plugs, if necessary with different heat ranges (to use as replacements in the event of wear and tear,
for use with different RC model vehicle fuels and in cold/warm temperatures or a different humidity)
• Tool (e.g. wrench for changing a tyre, screwdriver)
• Compressed air spray (for cleaning)
• Spare tyres (in order to quickly change worn/damaged tyres)
If the remote control system does not have a built-in fail-safe feature (see remote control system operating
instructions for details), we recommend installing a separate fail safe system between the receiver and
throttle/brake servo.
If the remote control signal fails, the fail-safe system moves the throttle/brake servo to the neutral position
to prevent the vehicle from continuing to move and causing an accident.
