Charging the battery (8) (Fig. 6-8)
DANGER
Danger due to charging the battery incorrect-
ly!
If the charging voltage is too high, there is a risk of the
battery exploding.
Always remove the ignition key from the ignition lock
when working on the battery.
– The charging current of the battery charger must not
exceed 5 A and the charging voltage must not ex-
ceed 14.4 V
ATTENTION
Danger of short circuit!
– To avoid a short circuit, always disconnect the neg-
ative cable (-) from the battery first and reconnect it
last.
– When connecting/disconnecting the battery, ensure
that the terminals (+/-) do not touch each other and/
or the frame.
Ensure that batteries are secured against unauthorised
use (e.g. by children).
Charge the battery during the winter 1-2 times to en-
sure that the full charging capacity is maintained. In-
correct storage can damage the battery.
1. Switch the engine off and remove the ignition key
(3b).
2. Open the maintenance door (4).
3. Pull the protective caps off both terminals (+/-) on the
battery (8).
4. Remove both terminal cables (+/-) from the battery
(8). Use an open-ended spanner size 10/12 mm (13).
5. Remove both wing nuts (8b) and remove the battery
holder (8a).
6. Remove the battery (8).
7. Check the battery (8) for deformations.
If the battery (8) is deformed, it must be replaced im-
mediately.
8. Connect the battery (8) to a suitable battery charger.
Then connect the red battery charger cable to the
positive terminal (+) and the black battery charger ca-
ble to the negative terminal (-).
9. Charge the battery (8) for at least 5 hours.
10. Only use quick charging in emergencies, as this
charges the battery (8) at high speed, which can sig-
nificantly reduce the service life of the battery (8). If
you use a battery (8) that has been charged using
quick charge, recharge it as soon as possible to avoid
shortening the battery life.

Transport (Fig. 1, 2)
WARNING
Risk of injury and crushing!
Unintended and unexpected start-up of the product may
lead to injuries. When transporting, bear in mind the
weight of the product. The product can fall and cause
damage or injury if it is not lifted properly.
– Before loading, switch off the engine and wait until
the engine has cooled down.
– Remove the ignition key from the ignition lock.
– The product can cause severe crushing injuries due
to its own weight.
– The product should be loaded or lifted with at least
four people.
– The lifting eye must be used to lift the product via a
lifting device (crane or hoist).
– The lifting eye must be inspected regularly for wear,
damage or misuse. A damaged lifting eye must be
repaired immediately.
This product can be transported in a vehicle or by its
wheels, depending on the conditions of the place of use
and the distance to be covered.
11.2.1
The wheels (5) facilitate transport over short distances.
1. Use the transport handles (6) to roll the product for-
wards or backwards as required.
11.2.2
Always transport the product in an upright position.
1. Lift the product into a vehicle. Please note that the
product is too heavy to be lifted without mechanical
help (i.e. lifting device).
2. Use a loading ramp to roll the product into the vehicle.
3. Secure the product on the transport vehicle against
rolling, slipping or tipping over and also lash down the
product.
11.2.3
Before lifting, make sure that the lifting device (crane or
hoist) is capable of carrying the product weight without
danger. See type plate for weight of lifting device.
1. Attach the lifting harness or crane hook to the lifting
eye (2).
2. Lift the product a small distance and make sure that
all connections are properly fastened.
3. You can now lift the product as desired using the lift-
ing device.
12 Repair and ordering spare parts
After repairs or maintenance, make sure that all safety-re-
lated parts are installed and are in perfect condition. All
parts which may cause injury must be kept where they
are inaccessible to children or others.
