This manual must be translated (according to regulations) by the dealer, in the language of the country where the equipment is used. This manual must be
read and understood by the user before using the PPE.The test methods described in the standards do not represent actual usage conditions. It is
therefore important to study each work situation and that each user is fully trained in different techniques in order to know the limits of the various devices.
The use of this PPE is restricted to qualified persons properly trained or working under the direct responsibility of a competent superior. The user's safety
depends on the continuing efficacy of the PPE, its strength and the proper understanding of the instructions in this manual. The user is personally
responsible for any use of this PPE which does not comply with the requirements of this manual and in the case of non-compliance with the security
measures applicable to PPE specified by this manual. The use of this PPE is restricted to persons in good health, certain medical conditions may affect
the safety of the user, in case of doubt contact a physician. Adhere strictly to the instructions for use, verification, maintenance and storage. Before any
use, refer to the recommendations for use for each component of the system. The fall arrest harness (EN361) is the only body grip to be allowed for use
with a fall arrest system.
The CAMELEON must be used exclusively on the anchor line on which it was certified.
The CAMELEON is a multi-function device as described below. Depending on the work involved or the intended use of the device, it is imperative to refer
to these instructions to avoid any hazardous employment. Only the techniques illustrated are allowed, and any other use is prohibited: mortal risk.
Fall arrest device:
 The opening type device slides on its anchor line and ensures vertical movement to the user. In the case of a fall, the device automatically locks itself on
the anchorage line and stops the fall of the user. It is certified in compliance with the EN353-2 standard.
Positioning device:
 Using the handle in the open position, the device allows adjustment of the distance between the operator (with a work positioning belt) and the structure.
It is certified in compliance with the EN358 standard.
Rope control device:
 Type A: adjusting device for security support
Used on the safety support, it accompanies the user during his change of position and automatically locks on the safety support under a static or dynamic
charge. It is certified in compliance with the EN12841 type A standard.
 Type B: ascending device for work support
Manually operated on its work support, it locks on a static or dynamic charge in one direction and slides freely on the other way.It is certified in compliance
with the EN12841 type B standard.
To increase your safety, the CAMELEON is equipped with a fail safe mechanism whose role is to avoid positioning the device in the wrong direction of
operation on its anchorage line. It also features a fall indicator whose role is to enable the user to identify if the device is operational or not.
WARNING :
- It is important to distinguish the difference between work support and safety support. Safety support is primarily used to support the work support. A
single support used in support is not a security support but a work support.
Consequently, when the adjustable anchor line is loaded with the weight of the user, it becomes a work support. It is therefore necessary, when in work at
height hanging from the work rope through an adjustment device, to add at least a second safety rope with a fall arrest system compliant with the EN12841
type A or EN353-2 standards, (or another fall arrest system EN355, EN360,...) to ensure optimum safety.
- The CAMELEON has been tested and certified with a static braided polyamide rope of 10.5 mm diameter compliant with EN353-2 and EN12841 Type
A/ B standards. It must be used exclusively with the support on which it has been certified and recommended by the manufacturer. The anchorage lines
used for the fall arrest device and rope adjustment devices must be used jointly with a counterweight of 400 g to ensure proper functioning and correct
positioning of the rope. The end of the anchorage line should be knotted to create a stop.
- The test methods described in the standards do not represent the actual conditions of use. It is therefore important to study each work situation and that
each user is fully trained in the various techniques in order to know the limitations of these different devices. For this reason training should be conducted
by competent and prepared persons.

CAMELEON Method of use:
(Fig. 2) The opening of the device is simple and done by two successive and distinct movements. Just press the open button on the device (Fig. 1, Rep.
A), then reverse the same button while still pushing and the flanges of the unit will spread to free the way of the anchor line.
(Fig. 3) It is then possible to engage the rope between the two cam locks of the device.
(Fig. 4) The closing of the device is done by closing the two flanges with simple pressure. The locking of the set will automatically set up.
WARNING : (Fig. 5)
- It is vital to your safety to check, before starting work, that the unit is properly locked on the anchor line, assuring that the representation of
the padlock used as a control lock (Fig. 1, Rep. G) is fully visible in its window (see attached figure).
- If the padlock is not fully visible: The device is not properly locked and you incur a serious risk. If that is the case, it suffices to exert greater
pressure between the two flanges to engage the locking mechanism or, when the risk of falling is over, resume opening and closing
manipulations explained above.
One advantage of CAMELEON is that it is not necessary to disconnect it from the harness to establish it on its anchor line. This avoids it falling.
(Fig. 6 & 7) - If you attempt to position the device in the wrong direction on its anchor line, the direction fail safe rocks and hinders the passage of the rope
to prevent its placement. However, it is vital for your safety to ensure that the device is positioned in the right direction on its anchor line before use. The
anchor line will be linked to an anchor point with the aid of the connector provided. Check that the latter is properly locked before the starting work.
Handle instructions: (Fig. 8 & 9)
To move from the closed position to the open position, simply press the handle opening button (Fig.1, Rep.F) and turn the handle while holding down the
button.
To return to the closed position, it is sufficient to reverse the manipulation and ensure that the handle is locked by the return of the pin into its place.
