Standard equipment
side brushes
The rotating side brushes clean the vehicle
from the side, in the front and rear areas.
roof brush
The rotating roof brush remove dirt from the
top part of the vehicle.
Wheel washing unit (plate brush)
The vehicle wash plant is equipped with
two wheel wash facilities for to provide a
thorough rim flange cleaning. The position
of the wheels is detected through a light
barrier. The rotating brushes are pressed
by a pneumatic cylinder against the rim
flange. The brushes receive the water sup-
ply from a nozzle each located in the cen-
tre.
Nozzles brush watering B1, B2
From the nozzles of the brush watering
shampoo mixed with water is sprayed on
the vehicle as a detergent.
Foam wash
The detergent for preliminary cleaning is
applied as foam to increase the reaction
time.
Dirt catcher
The dirt catcher retains particles which
could block the jets.
Dosing pumps
The dosing pumps mix the following deter-
gents and maintenance products into the
water:
– shampoo (RM 811)
– drying aid, (foam wax) (RM 829).
– Foam (RM 812)
– Pre-spraying (RM 803 or RM 806)
– Wax (RM 829)
Drier side-jets
The air needed for to blow-dry the vehicle
sides flows out of the drier jets.
Roof drier
The blow-dry beams are moved along the
contour of the vehicle. Built-in ventilators
generate the necessary air flow to dry the
vehicle.
Positioning ramp
The positioning ramp has the following
functions:
– It is used to position the vehicle before
the wash.
– The drive-out direction is indicated after
the wash.
– Display of faults.
– During manual operations, the selected
group is displayed.
Light barriers
The light barriers detect:
– the position and contours of the vehicle
and
– the position of the vehicle's wheels.
Detergent
The canisters for detergents and care-liq-
uid are installed in the pillar 2.
Type plate
The most important plant data can be found
on the type plate.
Control cabinet
The control cabinet for the plant is accomo-
dated in column 1.
Feed distributor
The main switch for the plant is mounted on
the feed distributor. The feed distributor is
positioned outside the wash plant in the
plant room or another suitable location
nearby.
Emergency-stop button
In the event of danger for persons, property
and animals, the plant must be switched off
immediately by pressing the emergency-
stop button. It is found
– at the operating point for manual mode,
– at the wash card/code reader.
Control station
The vehicle wash plant is delivered with:
– a wash card/code reader (option)
– with one control section.
Safeguard against tipping over.
A mechanical safety device holds the unit
on the washing tracks even if the customer
washing the vehicle makes grave mistakes.
Options
Wash card/code reader
The wash card or code reader is used to
operate a washing plant with self-service.
Note:
The wash cards/codes required for opera-
tion are programmed for the specific plant.
Processed water connection
enables the use of rainwater or recycled
water as a partial substitute for fresh water.
Underfloor wash facility
The optionally obtainable underfloor wash
facility enables the vehicle underside to be
washed. Hereby water is sprayed with high
pressure on the entire underside via two
oscillating jet pipes.
Pre-spraying (insect removal)
Foam is applied to the front half of the vehi-
cle. The foam is generated from water, a
pre-spraying agent and compressed air
and is applied using the pre-spraying noz-
zles.
Intensive cleaning (only CB 5 skandi)
The pre-cleaning chemicals are applied to
the vehicle from stationary fine nozzles.
Rim cleaner
The rim cleaner is applied to the wheels
from two nozzles located in the running
gear of the unit.
Side/ overall high pressure washing
The high-pressure wash removes excess
dirt from the surface of the vehicle. By min-
imising the risk of scratches from sand
grains or similar substances, the HP clean-
ing is very important for paint-protective
cleaning. Two designs are available with
operating pressures of 1.6 MPa (16 bar)
and 6 MPa (60 bar) respectively.
Foam wax
Before the drying process, foam wax is ap-
plied to the vehicle from the nozzles of the
drying aid.

Cold wax
From the cold wax nozzles water mixed
with wax is sprayed onto the vehicle.
Anti-frost devices
When there is danger of frost, the water is
blown out of the pipeline system. The wash
plant can be equipped with two anti-frost
devices:
– Anti-frost manual: The blow-out proce-
dure is enabled via the operator of the
plant.
Automatic anti-frost: The blow-out pro-
cedure is controlled via a thermostat.
Osmosis
De-mineralised water (from an installed or
optional RO unit) or fresh water with drying
aid added to it is applied to the vehicle
through the nozzles for drying aid.
Polishing program
Using 4 stationary fine nozzles, the polish-
ing wax is sprayed on to the vehicle with the
help of compressed air. The polishing pro-
cess then starts with the help of washing
brushes.
Safety button
Safety buttons are required when the re-
quired safety clearance between the wash-
ing unit and fixed structures (such as walls,
pillars, wash basins) cannot be maintained.
They avoid persons getting squeezed be-
tween the washing unit and the wall. The
washing unit stops immediately as soon as
a safety button comes in contact with a hur-
dle. After checking the reason, the safety
button must be reset by authorised expert.
Splash guard
Surfaces close to the washing area are pro-
tected against being sprayed by dirt or wa-
ter splashes from the rotating side-brushes.
The splash guard is fastened to the exter-
nal surfaces of the running gear and to the
pillars.
Spurposts
The spurposts have the task to ensure a
middle alignment of the vehicle. They pre-
vent the vehicle being placed too far away
from the middle.
