Note
Steps 1, 3 and 4 have to be carried out for initial start-up only.

Activity
Install the UL 100 PLUS according to Section 2.1.
Connect the UL 100 PLUS to the required
mains voltage.
Fold out the electronics unit (see section 2.7)
Check that all switsches on the service
panel-are set to default (Fig. 25)
Close the test port with a blank flange.
Set mains switch "ON/OFF" (8/7) to "ON".
Briefly press "START" (4/24) .
Press "STOP/VENT" (4/2) for more than 2 s.
Open the test port.
Connect the test object.
Press "START" (4/24) briefly.
Spray the test object with helium.
Press "Stop/Vent" for more than 2 s.
Disconnect the test object; close the
test port or connect the next test
object.
Measurements can be interrupted by briefly pressing
the "STOP / VENT" pushbutton

Initial Start-Up and Evacuatlon of a Test Object
Slot switch (26/2) must be in the "NORMAL"
position.
Switches (26/13) must all be in the "Auto" position.
Switch for mass (26/11) must be set to "M4".
Initialization of the UL 100 PLUS; the status display (26/1) indicates "INIT".
The hand unit is initialized; status LED (4/1) lights green.
The backing pump runs up,
The electronics are powered up.
The status display (26/1) on the service panel indicates one after the other once
UL 100 PLUS VERSION-3.0
DATE-c0cx TIME-1x:9.xx
The turbomolecular pump starts to run up automatically.

alternatingly indicates ACCL / VAC.
Display of forevacuum and inlet pressure
As soon as the inlet pressure py «0,2 mbar and the nominal spéed of the TMP
pump are reached, the ready status is indicated by lighting of the exponents and .
the zero indicators (4/21)
The status LED (4/1) goes out.
The status display on the service panel (26/1) indicates the stand-by message
"STBY".

Note
If the status display on the service panel (26/1) displays alternatingy ACCL /
SNIF, the UL 100 PLUS was in the sniffer mode before switching off.
The inlet is evacuated; display "EVAC"
the standby mode is skipped and "SNIF" is displayed.
Status LED (4/1) lights green.
Exponent and zero indicator LED (4/21) go out.
Display of dropping inlet press. Ge (4/23).
The status display on the service panel (26/1) indicates "EVAC"
As soon as the inlet pressure pg has dropped
below 0.2 mbar, the combination display (4/3)
Switches to leak rate. A short pip ís sounded.
