Connecting QuantumX modules

Important
If you are already using QuantumX modules and want to
connect them with a CX22-W data recorder, install the
latest module firmware. If you want to add new modules
at a later date, please install the latest software on the
CX22-W using the Recovery function, see Section 13.2
on Page 79. The latest software is always installed
during recovery. So after starting catman
may be prompted to update the firmware of older
QuantumX modules.
QuantumX modules are connected with the CX22­W
data recorder in the same way as other QuantumX mod­
ules are connected: e.g. 1­KAB272­x from X102 to X101
on the next module. At the data recorder you can select
X100 or X101 connector.
Alternatively, you can connect all the QuantumX modules
to the CX22-W via Ethernet. If you have more than one
module, you will also require an Ethernet switch.
In the configuration shown below, the supply voltage of
the modules is looped through FireWire (maximum 1.5 A
via FireWire; power consumption for a module or the
CX22-W, see the Specifications section in the data
sheet).
You can connect up to 12 modules to the CX22-W data
recorder via FireWire, supply feed required for every 4
CX22-W

