12.1 Digital inputs and outputs
Three inputs at terminals 1, 2 and 3 and 3 outputs at
terminals 4, 5 and 6 are available. The status of the
outputs is indicated by LEDs, see Section 12.3.3.
The level for the inputs is 5 volts in open condition
(HIGH), as it is pulled up to HIGH via a pull-up resistor
(active LOW). The maximum LOW level for the inputs is
0.7 volts. The level for the outputs is 5 volts (HIGH),
when the corresponding output is set, otherwise 0 volts
(LOW). The inputs and outputs are TTL-compatible, the
line lengths at the outputs must not exceed 3 m.
Important
The START/STOP button is switched parallel to the input
on terminal 3. So if you want to use the push button, do
not connect input 3. Otherwise the condition "Active"
(LOW) will be triggered by pressing the button and by a
LOW signal at terminal 3.
Tip
At the start of a DAQ job, outputs are reset to LOW if you
activate the setting Reset all CX22-W digital outputs
on DAQ start in the options for the CX22-W (System
group) in catman
