Connecting the CX22-W data recorder

Connect the complete system to the supply voltage
(Chapter 6.1). The data recorder can be parameterized
either directly using connected peripherals such as
keyboard, monitor and mouse (Chapter 6.1) or via an
Ethernet connection between the data recorder and a PC
(Chapter 6.2 and Chapter 7).

System supply voltage

Connect a supply voltage of 10 V  30 V (DC) to the
X103 connection (see Abb. 6.1). Use a supply voltage
with sufficient power. A FireWire connection can pass the
supply voltage on to further modules (1.5 A respectively
in both directions). Rule of thumb:
3 modules = 1 voltage connection. If FireWire
connections are used, all supply voltages must be
identical - in the best case, one source or regulated
identical power units.
In mobile operation, the power supply must be ensured
over the entire duration of the data recording (e.g.
ignition or Power Off). A separate test battery or the
intermediate connection of an uninterruptible power
supply (UPS) are useful for this purpose. Loss of voltage
does not lead to the loss of all data. If the standard
catman data format (BIN) is used, just a small data block
is lost.
The storage or writing process is usually not finished at
the end of the measurement job (e.g. via a Stop trigger).
This applies primarily for conversion processes to other
data formats.
