Only ever save the measurement data on the removable
CompactFlash card (see Chapter 5 on Page 17) or to
memory connected via USB, as the internal memory card
has a limited life, and can only be replaced by the HBM
Service.
13.6 EWF, safeguarding your settings
against change
The program called EWF (Enhanced Write Filter)
prevents (unintentional) changes or overwrites happening
to the files on Partition C: This could happen, for
example, if the voltage supply fails, and Windows is not
properly shut down. In this situation, the program always
restores the "previous" state when the CX22-W is
switched on.
All data and programs saved on C: are therefore only
stored temporarily, and are deleted again once the
system is switched back on. If you want to permanently
save settings or programs on C:, you must use Commit
changes and reboot in the start screen (CX22-W Start
screen). Changes will then be permanently applied and
will also be available the next time you restart the
CX22-W.
If you want to make comprehensive changes, you can
also totally deactivate the EWF function:
1. Click on Exit to Windows.
2. Call the "EWFController" program in the directory
C:\Program FilesHBM (there is a link in the directory).
3. Click on Commit and disable, to switch off EWF.
