• Pull the cable pull starter several times with the carburettor slide (full throttle position) being open,
until the fuel has reached the suction line of the carburettor. Hold the air suction nozzle of the car-
burettor closed with the finger.
Warning!
The length of the starter cord is approx. 50 cm. This is why you should pull the starter
handle out to a maximum of approx. 30 cm in order not to damage the cable pull starter.
Hold the model tightly on the run-in stand with the other hand.
• When the suction process was successfully completed, connect a rechargeable battery or a power
panel to the glow plug.
• If the plug preheats correctly (display on power panel or glow plug socket), pull the cable pull starter
again in short and quick pulls, until the engine starts.
• Now slowly turn the main nozzle needle anticlockwise to a richer mix and in parallel gradually open
the slide on the carburettor.
Doing this the engine must neither be flooded nor go out and the speed must not increase too
much. If the procedure is carried out correctly, the carburettor is completely opened in the end and
the engine is running in a high idle speed range. Due to the extremely rich setting, abrasive particles
are washed out of the engine together with unburnt fuel and the engine isn't already stressed ther-
mally during the first run.
• In order to avoid revving up the engine due to fuel shortage when the tank is empty, you should
briefly close the circular suction opening of the air filter with the finger and therefore stop the en-
gine by stopping the air supply.
• Turn the main nozzle needle back to the original position and refuel the model. When the engine has
cooled down again, carry out the above described running-in procedure several times.
d) Adjusting the carburettor
Once you have used up 3-4 tank fillings in the way described under c), you can carry out the first test
drives.
• Repeat the above described procedure until the engine is running with idle speed with fully opened
carburettor. Now gradually turn the main nozzle needle in clockwise direction and make the mix
leaner until the engine increases the speed. As soon as the engine wants to rev up, the carburettor
is instantly closed.
Warning!
As soon as the speed is increasing, the clutch engages and the complete drive section as
well as the wheels of the model will abruptly begin to turn. Make sure that there are no
body parts or objects in the danger zone. Risk of injury!
• If the setting is correct, the engine will briefly increase the speed with every short throttle burst of
the remote control and the model will speed up. In the process a lot of smoke will come out of the
sound absorber.
