17. Troubleshooting

Even though the model and the remote control system were built to the latest available technology,
there can still be malfunctions or faults. This is why we would like to show you how to remove possible
faults.
Problem
Transmitter doesn't respond.
The transmitter turns off straight
away of after a short while.
The system only has a low range.
The model doesn't respond.
The servos shake.
One servo is humming.
The engine doesn't start.
Solution
• Check batteries or rechargeable batteries of transmitter.
• Check polarity of batteries or rechargeable batteries.
• Check function switch.
• Check marking on crystals.
• Carry out crystal change on a different channel.
• Check batteries or rechargeable batteries of transmitter
or replace them.
• Pull out transmitter antenna to its full length.
• Check batteries or rechargeable batteries of transmitter
and model.
• Check receiver antenna for damages and electrical conti-
nuity.
• Check batteries or rechargeable batteries of model.
• Check polarity of batteries or rechargeable batteries.
• Check function switch.
• Check marking on crystals.
• Carry out crystal change on a different channel.
• Check batteries or rechargeable batteries of transmitter
and model.
• Carry out crystal change on a different channel.
• Dry possible dampness in the receiver with a hair dryer.
• Check receiver antenna for damages and electrical conti-
nuity.
• Check batteries or rechargeable batteries of receiver.
• Check that the linkage rods are smooth running.
• Operate servo without rudder horn for test purposes.
• Carry out EPA setting.
• Insufficient amount of fuel sucked in.
• Glow plug broken.
• Rechargeable battery weak or empty or glow plug socket
(power panel) broken.
• Carburettor closed too far.
• Main nozzle needle closed too far.
