Only work with short throttle bursts at first, in order to get used to the driving behaviour of the
model and not to overload the engine. If the engine goes out when you accelerate or when you
decelerate, you can increase the idle motion trim or also change the position of the idle motion
needle very gradually for test purposes.
• From one tankful to the next, you can now gradually increase the full throttle sections and increase
the power of the engine by turning the main nozzle needle in.
• After approx. 10-15 tankful you can drive your first longer full throttle section. Doing this, you can
turn the main nozzle gradually in, until the engine works at maximum power.
If the engine stutters after a brief full throttle drive, the engine is now adjusted too lean and the
main nozzle needle has to be opened a little again.
• Once you have found the optimum setting for the main nozzle needle, you can also adjust the idle
motion needle as well as the stop screw of the slide carburettor (see illustration 14, pos. 1).
When the engine smokes excessively during a sudden increase of throttle and only reaches the
speed reluctantly, the idle mix is too "rich" and has to be made leaner by turning the idle motion
needle gradually in clockwise direction.
If the mix is too lean, the engine will suddenly go out when accelerating.
• The idle speed has to be set in a way so that the centrifugal clutch opens as soon as the carburettor
is closed. If need be, reset the stop screw (see illustration 14, pos. 1) in accordance with the running
behaviour of the engine.
Warning!
It is better to adjust the engine a little too rich than too lean, because too rich a setting
means your engine may possibly not run with the maximum possible top performance.
Too lean a setting can lead to insufficient lubrication with enormous wear. In an extreme
case it can cause complete damage of the engine! This is not covered by the guarantee/
